orange

Oranges come in many shapes and forms, and I believe no one can remain impervious to their charm. Simply peeling an orange infuses the whole room with a sweet aroma that has the power to uplift the gloomiest moods. Sweet Valencia and navel orange varieties are an easy and versatile choice, but in season, make sure to pick up blood oranges: their showstopping color and ever-so-slightly sour taste will wow you and your guests, guaranteed.

grilled shrimp, chorizo, and orange tapa

Tapas dishes are better when shared with friends, and this fresh and hearty summertime appetizer is no exception. Make sure to serve it with fresh crusty bread so you can mop up the delicious dressing.

1 pound peeled and deveined medium shrimp (31 to 40 count)

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
